Things are about to get hairy in the next pinup lineup.

I'm proud to announce that I will make more pinups as promised. The theme for this pinup is up close and personal.

On today's review, I'll be taking a look at...Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

Spyro the Dragon. What can I say? He's probably the most popular PlayStation character of all time as well as childhood gaming icon. Well, at the time, he WAS popular back then. Especially Crash Bandicoot. Anyway, after 3 great games, where did Spyro go from here? Well...shit happened. Insomniac Games, the main developer of the 3 Spyro games, moved on to work on other games (most notably Ratchet & Clank). Development on a new Spyro game started right away but without Insomniac's involvement, so Universal Interactive, who owned Spyro at the time, hired developers Check Six Studios and Equinoxe Digital Entertainment to make a new mainline entry, Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly. Unfortunately, it was rushed too quickly during development and released too soon. It was a massive failure with critics, citing poor controls, numerous bugs and glitches and a lack of charm. 2 years later, a new Spyro game would be made. That being Spyro: A Hero's Tail. It is pretty much an improvement over Enter the Dragonfly in terms of quality, even if it left many people divided. Aside from a few handheld games, especially a crossover with Crash Bandicoot, the series was rebooted but to no avail (don't get me wrong, The Legend of Spyro trilogy is VERY underrated).

All hope was lost after that...or so you thought. Toys for Bob, known for making the Skylanders games, announced that they will make a remaster of the first 3 Spyro games in one game called Spyro Reignited Trilogy. The love for Spyro was once lost in time has now came back and it is loved by fans to this day.

Enough talk, let's cut to the point. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a fantastic remaster of the first 3 Spyro games. Of course, I, for one, never played the original games. Besides, this remaster is the only way for me to play the original trilogy. Of course, there are a few problems I have with this game. First off, it came out on PS4 and Xbox One first, because I used to play with the PS4 back then, before it came out on Nintendo Switch and PC one year later.

I never got to play the remaster until I got not just the Switch but also Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the aforementioned remaster. I got to play both and it was a blast!

Secondly, the difficulty. It's ridiculous. Sure, it starts of easy but as the game progresses, it gets really, REALLY difficult from here on out. Well, it is difficult in some spots so here are a few examples:

-The infamous Alchemist mission from Spyro 2.

-That goddamn fight with Gulp of the same game!!!!

-That on rails segment in Spyro 3.

-Some of the racing levels in the Speedway levels in the same game.

-The final fight with Ripto from Spyro 2.

-That infamous boxing mission from Spyro 3.

Also, there is a game breaking bug in Spyro 3, well, in the racing levels. If you quit the race and come back again, ooh boy, you're in for it now. You'll fly forward then fall through the world in an endless loop....OF DOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

If that happens, quit the game while you can and then come back. That should fix it. This bug only affects the racing levels. If you quit the race, my advice is to exit the Speedway level and come back.

Okay, now let's talk about the good stuff.

Each of the worlds of each game are beautifully remade with a hint of detail. Not only that, but the characters and their design are improved greatly. Back then, the characters are impressive to look at but only because of limitations on the original hardware. Nowadays, they're a bit dated but fondly known about. So yes, the characters look better than before (even though the models in A Hero's Tail are a decent likeness to the original PS1 models). The voice acting well done but that's because it is re-recorded word for word. Well, in some places, anyway. Yeah, the voice acting loses that campy charm that some people knew and love, but I didn't mind much because the voice acting needed an update of sorts. Thus making a new kind of charm. It is also way more funny in some parts than before.

And don't get me started on the music. It is remade greatly. Oddly enough, there is also dynamic music that based on your character's actions but that is really unnecessary. Not to mention there is also the original music if need be.

What about the gameplay? It's probably the same as before but better, mostly the controls. You might think that you will beat all 3 games from start to finish, right? WROOONG!!!!! There is a reason you must beat the games 100%. In fact, you might wanna play these games once and only once. That way, there is nothing to do after you beat the games completely. In fact, that's exactly what I did when I completed all 3 Spyro games. That and I'm planning on getting A Hero's Tail so I can beat that game and be finished with my Spyro marathon.

The Reignited Trilogy is fantastic but I recommend you complete all 3 games once and only once!

Next review coming soon...

I am proud to announce that I am back to making art. As for pinups, I'll do them as well. Not now, but soon.

For my review, I'll taking a look at....Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Super Smash Bros, in my opinion, is probably the most popular fighting game series to date. To recap, Super Smash Bros. 64 was pretty good but a little bit dated in terms of content. Super Smash Bros Melee is even better thanks more content, updated graphics, replay value in single player mode and so on. In fact, this is the best Smash Bros. game to date. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, in my opinion, is probably my favorite game next to Ultimate. Some people may call it the worst one, but I disagree with that. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS is a huge step up from last time thanks to even more content, but, once again, it seems pretty dated by the time Ultimate came out. Don't get me wrong, Smash 4 is pretty good, well, at the time anyway.

We now move on the latest entry, Ultimate. This, along, with Brawl is my all time favorite game in the series.

Firstly, let's get one tiny nitpick out of the way. Spirits. They're basically the stickers from Brawl except they're involved in some kind of mechanic. What's worse is that they are involved in the Adventure Mode (don't get me wrong, the cutscenes are pretty cool). Sure, they work as collectables but they are a pointless addition to the series.

Now, with that being said, let's take a look at the good stuff. First off, the graphics are once again updated and are very detailed, mostly the items, stages, characters and so on. Music was huge highlight of the series, so not only do some of the music from past games make a return but the game also features new music. As the tagline says "Everyone is here!", well, everyone is here! That means most characters from Melee, Brawl and Smash 4 make a glorious return. That includes Pichu, Wolf, Snake, Ice Climbers, Pokemon Trainer and so on. The game also has a new set of characters to expand the roster, including DLC. Some are Echo Fighters like Daisy, Dark Samus, Ken, Chrom and so on. But we also get new characters like Simon, King K. Rool, Ridley, Isabelle, Incineroar, Pirhana Plant and so on.

As for the gameplay, it's quite a lot of fun. Sure it's kinda the same from before but a lot more fun and better. The moment when you land the final blow on your opponent at high damage is really satisfying. Also, the menu for this game is pretty nice because it zooms in to one of the sections to reveal more options.

If this is your first time playing this game, the roster seems bare bones at first. That's because you need to unlock more characters by doing several options. Most people would play through Classic Mode or Adventure Mode to unlock the characters, but the best way, in my opinion, is play a single match in Smash Mode and win in order to unlock that character by beating that character. My advice? When you beat King K. Rool and unlock him, you can use him to beat the new character in case your first attempt fails. The characters that I enjoyed playing with are Isabelle, King K. Rool, Ridley, Cloud, Inkling, Ryu, Duck Hunt and most of my own Mii Fighters.

Overall, Ultimate is a really cool game in this series and I highly reccomend it. Next review is coming soon.

Guess what, everyone? I got my own Nintendo Switch for Christmas at long last. Not only that, but I also got Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Spyro Reignited Trilogy (I'll post reviews for each later). I tell ya, this year's Christmas was pretty cool. Thanks to the Nintendo Switch!

Hey, everyone. I have another announcement to make. I am gonna do something that does not involve art.

Rather, I'm gonna make a new post every now and then, mostly personal news and reviews. Whenever I'm not busy making art, this is what I'm gonna do. Once again, I'm not making until next year. Just so you know.

Posted by peacemaker4 - December 13th, 2019

Hi, everyone. Due to unknown reasons, I will make one last art before I take a break until next year.

That's it, really.

Just because I'm not making more pinup lineups 'til next year doesn't mean I have something different planned.

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you.....One Hit Remaster. Basically, I remake one of my old or recent art and make it better. That is what I wanted to do for a long time. Don't get me wrong. Most of my art is fine. It's just that some of my art needs a remake. Just so you know.

It seems that I finished yet another pinup lineup. Unfortunately, this would be the last pinup lineup of 2019. Soooo....

There will be no more pinup lineups until next year. In the meantime, enjoy more random standalone art.
